The Cargo Bike Chronicles: a story by Seth Williams

Rider Name: Seth Williams, Ventura, California
Urban Arrow: Urban Arrow Family Cargo

How has owning an Urban Arrow changed your life?
We got to start biking with our child from the get go thanks to the baby car seat adapter for the Family Urban Arrow. As our child has grown the Urban Arrow has adapted to be such a fantastic and safe way to transport them to daycare, activities, and beach hangs. Plus there is room in the front for our dog as well so the whole family can bike to the park and get our wiggles out.

If you have children, what do they think/say about riding in the Urban Arrow?
They call it their bike and are so proud to show it off to strangers and friends alike.

What do you usually carry in your Urban Arrow?
Kiddo, dog, strider, stuff…

Do you reach for your Urban Arrow more often than your car keys?
Yes, it’s how my spouse gets to work and our child to daycare on the daily. And is used as often on the weekend when we head to the farmers market or the beach.

How do you use your Urban Arrow?
Commuting, errands and in the near future our first Family bike camping adventure.

What is the largest or heaviest item you’ve transported with your Urban Arrow?
Two adult bikes in the front basket.

What are your thoughts about the role of cycling and e-cargo bikes in a more sustainable future?
I think it is the future. When you look at the resources it takes to make an electric car vs. an electric bike, bikes are the future for sub 30 miles trips which is most people’s commute. We just need the protected bike / pedestrian infrastructure to make people feel comfortable doing the short quick trips.

What has been your greatest or most memorable adventure with your Urban Arrow?
Beach days as we don’t have to worry about parking when it’s busy just roll up and start playing.

Anything else you would like to share about your Urban Arrow or your experience with it? Not cheap but neither is a car and this will be so much more fun to explore your local zone with your kids then driving around in your car. Errands become enjoyable, and your kid will love to zoom along for the ride, plus you get to see what they see and talk throughout the ride; it’s a game changer.
