Corporate social responsibility

We care for our corporate social responsibility ♻️

Since our beginning in 2011, Urban Arrow has led the way in making top-of-the-line electric cargo bikes. We aim to build bikes that last and spread them worldwide, making lives in (sub)urban areas cleaner, quieter, and more livable. We believe that by creating great products that improve daily life, adopting new habits becomes a no-brainer.

Whether you care to get from A to B in the smoothest way possible. Or bringing your kids to school safely and without hassle. Whether you care about making your city a bit cleaner. Or delivering your goods to your customers more efficiently. And whether you care about reducing your carbon footprint, or you’re simply looking for the most joyful ride. We care for the things you care about. Our line-up of premium cargo bikes is a testament to this dedication.

Bearing this in mind, we prioritise not only taking care of our people and our community but also our planet. We constantly innovate to further minimise the environmental impact of our bikes. Aware of our responsibility, we design and develop environmentally friendly and efficient products that last, ensure eco-friendly manufacturing and distribution processes, and inspire our community and potential customers to adopt cycling, actively contributing to a better world.

We rely on three core pillars:

  • Built to last
  • Responsible production & packaging
  • Selling a growing sentiment: more bikes, less cars

Built to last

At Urban Arrow, we understand the impact our bikes have. Therefore we set out to design an electric cargo bike that never lets you down and makes traffic and discomfort a thing of the past. With our focus on lasting quality, we collaborate with premium partners in the biking industry, such as Bosch, Enviolo and Schwalbe, ensuring our cargo bikes are built for a lifetime of use.

Where our family bikes provide freedom, allowing families to cycle thousands of kilometres each year and often replace their cars, the reliability of our business bikes has helped couriers, small businesses, and large service providers avoid countless car trips and parking issues.

Responsible production & packaging

We uphold our mission with responsible production. Our cargo bikes are assembled exclusively in Europe, supporting local economies in both Amsterdam at our HQ and at the Pon.Bike facility in Kėdainiai, Lithuania. This state-of-the-art production site is equipped with the latest sustainable innovations, running largely on renewable energy thanks to 2,462 solar panels. In Amsterdam, we ensure sustainability with LED lighting, solar panels, and effective waste segregation.

The sustainability of our production process is an ongoing focus within our policy. The packaging for our cargo bikes (those delivered in boxes) is completely plastic-free, and we are working towards making all of our other packaging entirely plastic-free as well. Since 2025, 98% of our frames have also been produced with green aluminium, a durable metal that is not created by fossil energy sources.

Selling a growing sentiment: more bikes, less cars

There are over 100.000 Urban Arrow bikes in use across 26 countries. Quite the fleet. It’s both humbling and promising. Because over the past decade, we worked tirelessly to propel the electric cargo bike out of a Dutch niche to a serious alternative mode of transport. More people are falling in love with it. More companies are embracing it. We’re not just selling a bike, we’re selling a growing sentiment: I don’t need a car.

In the Urban Arrow community, our employees and all owners and riders, lies the foundation of our success. Their sense of responsibility, dedication, and commitment is essential. This is why we continually strive to inspire them to fully maximise the potential of their cargo bikes and make cycling a more integral part of their daily lives. This is also why we motivate our employees to come to the office by public transport or bicycle, and continue to inspire our community ‘s for optimal use of their cargo bikes.
